4 Year Old
Though children continue to learn through play this level of
preschool is a bit more structured and focused around
learning.  There is more of an emphasis on cognitive skills as
we prepare children to enter into kindergarten.  The alphabet
is introduced in a fun and creative manner.  Art, music,
dramatic play and social interaction help each preschooler
explore creativity and build self-esteem.  Centers are stocked
with developmentally appropriate materials which encourage
children to explore and create.
    Pre-Kindergarten
This 5 day program is for children who miss their town’s cut off to
start kindergarten or are 4 years 6 months by the start of school.  This
program offers an extra year of learning and development for a child
both cognitively and socially.  Educational learning is emphasized in a
supportive and non-judgmental environment.  Fundamental instruction
includes math, science, art, drama and music, as well as motor skills
training and personal and social development.  The focus is less on
play and more on learning.   We try and maintain a balance between
child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. Most teacher-directed
activities are open-ended, allowing students to work at his or her own
pace and, for the more able student, to extend their thinking and
achievement. Problem solving and creativity are readily encouraged,
and children are also invited to work independently as well as
cooperatively with other classmates.
    3 Year Old
It is during the preschool years
that children are introduced to
academic skills.  Language
development and socialization skills
are emphasized in a structured yet fun
environment.  Much of the child’s
learning is done through play.
Included will be cooking, small and
gross motor development, numbers
and letters, science experiences,
songs and movement, opportunities
for creative expression and different
art media.  The idea is to explore your
child’s creativity and build their self-
esteem.
Activities in this class are based
around the weekly themes which help
keep the curriculum focused and fun.
Children are learning to play together
and work cooperatively.
    Toddlers
This program serves children ages 18 months through 3 years.  Toddlers are often coming together for the
first time in a school environment.  Our primary goal is to provide developmentally appropriate activities and
experiences which will foster language development, opportunities for parallel play and socialization skills.
The curriculum is presented through thematic units and all our toddler activities are designed for smaller
hands and shorter attention spans.  Large and small motor activities are planned within a safe environment
where children will learn how to interact and get along with each other.  Children also learn to develop toilet
training skills (according to parents’ instructions) and other self-help skills which are an important part of
an early childhood program.
Toddlers are very active.  As soon as they get on their feet, they want to use their large muscles to walk, run,
climb, throw, kick and be on the go all the time.  Our experienced, licensed teachers will work on the
development of large motor skills such as balancing, throwing, kicking and jumping. The happiness
toddlers get from physical activities makes them feel good about themselves, and about their growing
abilities.
