2011-2012 Classroom Teachers and Staff Update

Dear ELAP Families,

We hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer!! We cannot believe that another school year has come to an end. With camp just around the corner, our staff is busy preparing for a fun-filled summer program.  Spots still remain in all groups for summer camp so be sure to register if you have not already done so. Limited spots remain in some fall classes so we recommend you register to ensure enrollment in your desired class.

As we begin to prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to inform you of some exciting changes being made. Ms. Shannon is being promoted to director!! We are excited for her and for the leadership and creativity she will bring to our program. Our center has always flourished under the leadership of a dynamic team and we know Ms. Shannon and I will continue that trend. While we know Shannon will be greatly missed in the 3 year old classroom, she will still play an important role in our three year old curriculum as well as the curriculums of the other classes. Ms. Shannon will be planning and executing monthly enrichments in each of our classrooms that collate around monthly and weekly themes. Shannon will spend much of the beginning of school in the classrooms assisting children and families as they adjust to their new school environment.  Her exceptional teaching methods and warm nature will now shine through in each of our classrooms.

We are also excited to announce the return of Ms. Chrissie Levine. After taking some time after the birth of her son, Ms. Chrissie will return to teach in our 4 year old program.

In our continuous efforts to provide the best early education experience for your children, we have decided to lower our staff/child ratios in the preschool classrooms. Our Pre-K classroom’s capacity will now be 15 children to 2 lead teachers. We will be splitting our large MWF 4s into 2 smaller classes and our 3 year old program will now host 3 teachers. We have placed teachers based on their education and experience.  Our mission has always been and continues to be focused on providing an exceptional early education experience for all.
